DescriptionWe are currently looking for an individual to work as part of our Downrange Outdoors Sports Experience program team as a Resource Operations Coordinator. The Liberty Run Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization (www.libertyrun.org), dedicated to providing a number of social, mental and physical support programs to veterans. An intern/volunteer position to start, the Resource Operations Coordinator would work within the D.O.S.E program scope of activities which include outdoors recreation, rehabilitation, and continued improvement for both physical and mental wellbeing of physically challenged and or disabled veterans and their families. Aligned with the Liberty Run Foundation business operations and public relations, this position is a vital part of our community outreach mission to increase public awareness and support. This position is available year round and depending on the experience, involvement, and qualifications, to the right candidate, this could become a full time paid position.
ResponsibilitiesIntern/volunteers will be expected to maintain a planning log with ongoing task management list in accordance to the team and program objectives. Interns/volunteers will have to have a major related to knowledge, sustainability, forest resources and land management. In addition, interns/volunteers having studied or familiarity in areas of forest operations, business, and wildlife management is a big plus. Other responsibilities or duties could include public relations and marketing, and participate in D.O.S.E program presentations. Intern/volunteers will assist in the program budget planning and building process, as well as program budget managing. Intern/volunteers will be given the task of righting articles on our Blog, Facebook page, and web based media sites. Compose and coordinate email blast of the quarterly newsletter to our subscribers. Writing and social media postings will relate to the scope of DOSE events, organizational fund raising events, and program awareness. Travel with the foundation would be required on occasion.
RequirementsCollegiate level academic courses and major for Natural Resources Management or Wildlife Ecology and Management degree with an interdisciplinary combination of social and ecosystem sciences. Looking for individuals who can work independently with great problem solving skills necessary with the knowledge, ability, and excellence to conserve and manage our D.O.S.E program natural resources systems for a sustainable future.
A volunteer/intern position, the Forestry (D.O.S.E) Resource Operations Coordinator would be working in relation to the Liberty Run Foundation operational element and would be involved with the managing other facets that include marketing, communications, program budgeting, and administrative processes. Candidates must have coursework or experience related to Natural Resources Management or Wildlife Ecology and Management degree, and have a curriculum supported by good verbal and written skills very important. Creative writing perspective is also very important.
