The Investment Writer will be part of an expanding marketing and sales team and report to the Marketing Communications Manager.

Role

The successful candidate will possess outstanding writing skills, strong investment knowledge, a keen interest in economics and the financial markets, excellent communication and relationship building skills and the ability to create high quality content from scratch under pressure to tight deadlines. The Investment Writer will be part of an expanding marketing and sales team and report to the Marketing Communications Manager.

Responsibilities

Responsible for creating and delivering investment writing in three areas:

Scheduled investment commentary, for example, newsletters and regular reports
Thought leadership pieces, for example, fund manager interviews, investment views on a particular asset class, or an educational piece on a current industry issue.

Company and fund specific promotions, for example, defining investment processes and fund differentiators to supporting fund launches and campaigns.

Ability to shape writing to meet different communication vehicles – web, email and print – and different audience types - professional adviser, institutions, sales teams and end-clients.

Ensure all copy complies with corporate standards, effectively communicates desired message, and meets project deadlines/specifications.

Attend regular investment meetings and communicate themes for sales and marketing purposes.

Responsible for managing future business level social media initiatives working with Social Media Content Strategist.

Flexibility to be part of other marketing initiatives depending on business needs.

Requirements

Evidence of successful writing experience in the asset management industry.

Proven understanding of investment funds, financial products and the economic environment.

Excellent research skills and ability to interpret statistical information to support written statements.

Effective interpersonal skills, proficiency at prioritization, proven experience with managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to operate under scheduled deadlines.

A team player with proven ability to build strong and productive relationships.

Self starter and passionate.

Experience in writing for social media a benefit.

Educated to degree level, preferably in communications, economics or similar discipline.

Knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, etc.).
