TheCelebrityCafe.com offers a 12-week internship completing 15 hours a week for college students with a passion for writing in a fun, relatable style to write biographies on entertainers, athletes, musicians, TV shows and general topics in SEO-optimized format.
Interns will be part of a long-term writing project for TheCelebrityCafe.com called Cafepedia. These “landing pages” will include writers, actors, musicians, producers, on-screen personalities from news programs, etc. They are an integral part of the site and are used in many stories, as well as featured on our front page.
Interns will receive regular feedback on their work from editors, and will be followed throughout the program by our staff of professional journalists while doing weekly assignments and keeping a detailed timesheet.
***This internship is a telecommuting position and can be done virtually anywhere there is an internet connection.
What you can accomplish with us:
-Have your work posted on Google News and other search engines for the world to see.
-Build your personal portfolio. Everything you write is searchable via Google, Bing, Yahoo and any other search engine.
-Undergo on-the-job training to provide a working knowledge of online publishing.
-Learn how to use social media for self-promotion and personal branding. Use of Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, etc is REQUIRED.
Academic credit is REQUIRED.
Requirements- High attention to grammar, voice, and syntax.
- Ability to edit, proofread, critique your own work.
-Working knowledge of AP Style
- Openness to explore and discuss subjective differences in writing styles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, creative environment with good cheer and flexibility.
- Willingness to both take charge and/or take direction.
