Description

Turntable Magazine believes that music isn't always about the latest hits and most popular chart toppers. While they are important, it's also important to acknowledge the work of artists because it is unique, eccentric, and a dynamic addition to the realm of music. So...we're going underground with this one. Expect to listen to world famous hit singles, local favorites, and everything in-between. Get ready for music from different countries, decades, and genres. Get ready for music from artists you've probably never heard of. Get ready for a new kind of movement. We're here to start trends, not follow them. Remember, this is Turntable Magazine, and we've got nothing but real music for real people.

Responsibilities

Writer Responsibilities :
Interviewing musicians/DJs/producers
Submitting articles (Deadlines are extremely important!)
Reviewing live events

Photographer Responsibilities:
Accompanying writers to interviews for photo shoots
Photographing live events

This internship will provide great journalism experience. It's a rare opportunity to work for a magazine like this, so apply now!

Requirements

Shout out to photographers/writers in the NYC area! (If you're located elsewhere, still apply! We're not limited to New York.) Have a passion for underground music of all genres? Then apply for an intern position at Turntable Magazine! This magazine is in its developmental stages and is set to launch the very first online blog edition this summer! The first print issue is set to launch Fall 2012! So if you're interested, get on board. This magazine is dedicated to bringing its readers a whole new kind of music experience. There are currently intern positions open for photographers and writers. This unpaid internship will provide a lot of experience with photographing musicians, concerts and other great events. Residents near the New York City area will be able to cover events and interviews during the summer. This position requires you to have a flexible schedule. To apply for the unpaid photography internship, please send a cover letter, resume, and portfolio to turntablemagazine@gmail.com. If you are applying for the writing internship, please include two writing samples.
