Blogging/Writing Interns Needed

Sitting for a Cause is a new company with a blog called Project Pawsitivity. Our company itself connects pet care professionals with pet owners who need pet care services. Owners then book and pay for services through our site, we take a small commission from the pet care professionals earnings, then donate 50% of our profits to animal-related causes. Our blog compliments our website and is all about pet related content.

This is an unpaid internship. We are looking for 2 talented interns seeking work experience to help us with the writing of articles for the blog. We aim to have our articles have the feel of the types of articles you'd see on BarkPost or The I Love Dogs Site. All articles will pertain to the pet industry, from pet care tips and tricks to recent pet product recalls to companies that give back to animal related causes to various animal rescue organizations/shelters and more.

The duration of our internship can either 10-20 weeks depending on what the intern is looking for and contains weekly lessons/training (either one a week, 2 a week, or 4 a week) to give you the necessary skills to excel in the blogging field.

This is the perfect position for someone who is an animal lover and is looking to get their feet wet in a marketing/writing capacity in the startup industry. This is a telecommute, unpaid position. We would like a journalism or marketing major who is close to graduating and is looking for an internship position to help boost their resume prior to graduation. About 5-10 hours per week.

Write 1-2 articles per week: this will include some basic online research so that you have the necessary content to compose each article.

Promote your articles via the company's social media accounts.

We have a basic idea of the articles we would like to see on the site but are open to other ideas for articles/series to include on the blog. At the end of the day we want the intern to get the absolute most experience they can out of this internship and are open to any ideas from our interns on how they can contribute to the blog as well as how they might want to contribute to the company as a whole!

Must be a self-starter, know how to do basic online research for article content, able to adhere to deadlines, be organized, have basic knowledge of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter at minimum, Instagram and Pinterest preferred), Wordpress knowledge is a plus.
