DescriptionA Brooklyn-based international nonprofit and school/center for children with disabilities is seeking journalism/writing/communications interns for the fall semester. Internships will be completed remotely (virtually), regardless of New York residency status. Opportunities for bylines on the organizations' websites, blogs, videos and magazines are available, contingent on the editorial calendar.
ResponsibilitiesInterns will learn how to tell a compelling story, through both written and visual content, by learning more about those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and through occasional interviews with thought leaders and industry experts. Interns will also learn how to use WordPress (and possibly other) content-management systems. They will also learn about editorial calendars and strategic content planning.
RequirementsInterns must have desire to learn more about developmental disabilities, especially those along the autism spectrum. They must also have the desire to research latest industry news/events in this field of study and be proactively motivated to monitor trends/viral content related to autism.
