ScholarVets supports Veterans and Military in choosing the right college, being academically successful during college, and finding meaningful employment quickly after graduating. This position is to support the ScholarVets content team to produce written articles, audio podcasts, and find videos to support veteran college students. We are looking for two interns that will write articles and research YouTube and other websites to find content that will inspire, motivate, and give confidence to veteran students to graduate college. Currently, 50% of college student veterans drop out of college after two years and never complete their dream of obtaining a degree. We aim to impact this problem using content that will help student veterans be successful in their academic studies and involvement at their school. There are 1.3 Million college student veterans in the U.S.

The position can be worked virtually and we are only asking for 5 to 10 hours of work per week with a flexible schedule designed around you. We would love it if an intern could receive college credit for their work during the spring semester. We will start the internship at the beginning of November!

Our company is headquartered in Washington DC, however we are an effective virtual team scattered across the country. ScholarVets is a startup company and our interns help us grow and support college student veterans in need. The CEO of ScholarVets is Jonathon Lunardi. Jonathon has started over 13 companies and nonprofits and worked for Blackboard and the US Army. You can view Jonathon's LinkedIn profile at - the content intern team will be working closely with Jonathon on their assignments and Jonathon will help teach interns in order to grow their career development and network.

Note - this is an unpaid internship, however interns are the first to get promoted into paying part-time or full-time jobs as the company grows.

Responsibilities include: find articles and content that help viewers learn how to study and fit into college successfully, write articles and record podcasts for any content needs that cannot be found on the Internet, write emails to organizations that have content we could co-develop to support veteran college students. Interns will report directly to the CEO.

Requirements include: great writing skills and written communication abilities, detailed knowledge of using Facebook and other social media platforms to target groups of people, research skills on YouTube and other content platforms, and self discipline to get the job done within a virtual work environment. If you know and understand the Veteran and Military culture that is a big plus, but not necessary. You mostly have to be a great writer, smart, disciplined, and be able to function well in a virtual team. A passion to support veterans runs deep through our team.
