Description

Benzinga, a leading financial media company, is looking for a hungry intern to help take our content to the next level! You will have a range of responsibilities including research, interviews, and writing a variety of articles that appear on Benzinga and across our partner network (including Yahoo Finance and TD Ameritrade).

You will also work closely with our editorial staff and content partners to ensure the content fits the tone and quality of Benzinga editorial standards.

Responsibilities

At Benzinga you'll get the chance to:

-Pitch and write unique articles based on news of the day or stories that are of interest to the Benzinga audience
-Write and post articles for our various content partners
-Profile and build relationships with executives and unique companies within finance and fintech
-Write headlines and posting stories to Benzinga.com
-Maintain communication with various partners to ensure all standards are being met

Requirements

In order to succeed, you'll have to be:

-Able to to turn in clean, concise copy that gets the point of the story across
-Willing to work in our downtown Detroit office for a minimum of 20 hours per week
-Studying, or recently completed, an undergraduate degree in journalism, english, communications, or a similar field
-Passionate about writing and interviewing
-A news junkie
-A creative thinker capable of finding different angles on stories

Bonus points if you:

-Are passionate about the financial markets
-Have strong news judgement
-Have prior experience at a media organization
-Can work under tight deadlines
-Knowledge of AP Style
