DescriptionThe National Women's Association is a national community of women business owners. It focuses on inspiring women to rid notions of normalcy or expectancy and instead lead the life they truly want to live. We aim to provide fresh, exciting and actionable content for women and provide them with the tools and encouragement to be the best versions of themselves possible.
We are also a digital media agency and help supply content to our members businesses. This means a much wider distribution than a single site.
Our internship program will be 4 weeks long and you will be working closely with our Editor throughout to pitch stories and write articles that fall into the categories of “Career”, “Lifestyle”, “Mindset," “Ambitious Women" (and even Coffee).
This internship will be remote
You will be actively building up your professional writing portfolio through writing 8 total articles to be published on our websites (and 4 of which will be featured on the homepage banner), which will include 2 listicle type articles, 2 investigative journalism articles, 2 ambitious humans interviews and 2 "wildcard" articles of your choosing.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a high-energy, talented Editorial Intern who will be responsible for:
-Producing 2 articles a week to be published on our website that fall into the categories of “Career”, “Lifestyle”, “Mindset”, “Ambitious Women" (and even Coffee). (2 listicles that have the potential to go viral, 2 investigative journalism backed by research and sources, 2 interviews with ambitions women and 2 wild cards of your choosing), 4 of which will be featured articles and highlighted on the homepage banner
-Carefully selecting accompanying images for your articles that are both visually appealing and un-copyrighted images
-Work closely with our Editor to pitch story ideas and unique angles throughout the course of this internship
RequirementsApplicants should have:
-Strong understanding of the English language, AP style, grammar and what makes a great online article
-Strong writing skills and an eye for details
-Passion for various social media platforms and emerging new media
-Excitement about the writing process
-Experience using Wordpress is a plus, but not required.
