BaltimoreGamer is a start-up digital magazine in Baltimore focused on video game culture. We are looking for talented writers to create compelling original work, new ideas and new ways of telling stories. We are looking for features that will enhance the reader's understanding of and appreciation for video games, the people who make them and the business of selling them. We are looking for the great stories of our generation and the people who will write them.
Help research, prep content, pitch articles and content ideas for website
Establish and manage relationships with bloggers, journalists, and industry influencers
Create original content in the form of articles, videos, podcast and more
Attend video game related events
Meet deadlines given by the editorial team
Submit articles to our Content Management System for approval
RequirementsThis job is for you if:
You are passionate about the video game industry.
You follow the latest industry trends, but you’d rather set them.
You write to invoke conversation.
You are a natural marketer with a knack for social media.
You attend video game related events.
You are an unequivocal student of journalism, (specifically creative writing, audio and video storytelling).
Ability to work 10-15 hrs per week remotely and in office.
Currently completing or have recently graduated with a degree in journalism, communications, creative writing, film and media, psychology or sociology.
Possesses a working understanding of consumer video games and video game culture
Strong writing skills and editorial judgment
Able to write long form content and articles
Passionate about video games, storytelling, and how human interact and use video games
