DescriptionZendocity.com is a lifestyle and product-based website for the organic, farm-to-table eating, meditating yoga-head guy or gal who is both fiercely Southern as they are concerned about living well. But before you can say crunchy granola tree hugging hippie, we're also interested in reaching out to young men and women on the edge of the lifestyle - those are into working out and eating healthy but have not necessarily made the mind-body-connection. Make sense?
Position includes researching topics, pitching ideas and writing, writing... writing. You get bylines - yeah! And when we have special events, you can help out with those as well.
We're looking for strong writers to create blogs and feature-style articles on yoga, meditation, farm-to-table eating, organic products, herbal medicines, etc. in a fun, relatable way... that will speak to the guy who does Crossfit but still eats GMO Corn Flakes cuz he think's they're healthy.
We want to inform those already living the life and educate in a fun yet sensible way those who are not. We'll promote you like crazy online and if you're a subject matter expert, we'll feature you and promote your own projects and links.
ResponsibilitiesOnce you prove your bonafides, we'll give you a beat: a geographical region and one or two subjects. You'll research, pitch and write. One - two articles or blog posts a month is the minimum, though more often would be great. We know you're interning and have other stuff going on, so we're flexible and willing to work with you if you know you're stuff and rock with pen and paper... okay, finger tips and keyboard keys.
RequirementsMust have/pursuing a degree in English, Journalism or related-field. However, personal experience in any of these areas trumps all. So, if you majored in Philosophy but have been teaching yoga for seven years and can write REALLY well... we're looking for you!
We prefer writers who live in or intimately know North Carolina, one particularly area is fine. If you know vegan restaurants in Charlotte, that's awesome because that's what we'll have you write about. To a lesser extent, we are looking for writers based in: Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Washington DC.
SkillsRequired - Research, Writing and Editing, Writing For The Web
