Description*This is a virtual, unpaid internship. We welcome applicants looking to work in study abroad, tourism and hospitality, international education, social media and web development.
Educational and meaningful travel are the raison d’être at Voyage. Whether a student is going abroad to study, work, volunteer, or simply expand horizons during an educational gap year or spring break, we want to be their one stop for all the information they need before setting off on their journey. Be a part of a new startup travel website and watch it grow thanks to your hard work and effort!
Voyage is a new site for travel-enthusiasts, especially students and their mentors. Voyage will be constantly adding useful tips, advice, websites, and stories that will help make a college student's next trip abroad, for whatever the reason, seem all the less challenging. Voyage will also provides a chance for users who are interested in study abroad to ask questions, seek advice, and discuss their worries and excitement with others who are in the same position as them via the discussion forums.
Voyage is currently run by volunteers, so unfortunately we are unable to offer pay at this time. We will however help you obtain college credit if so desired.
Virtual (unpaid) interns will be responsible for providing the website and its users with up to date advice and news on everything study abroad. We hope to have as many articles as possible related to a wide range of topics regarding international travel.
Responsibilities-Write engaging and entertaining stories about your own (or others') travel experiences!
-Interns will assist with research and writing engaging articles on a wide variety of topics related to travel and study abroad. This includes helping to report, research and write breaking news and long-form journalism, including features, analyses, personality profiles, Q&As, among others. The interns will also help the staff by monitoring newswires, competitors’ sites and social media to identify trends and formulate news stories.
-Interns will be expected to contribute at least one story per week depending on the topic area assigned. They should expect to work around 2 hours per week, depending on the topic and functions assigned.
- Assisting with or proofreading weekly articles.
- Work on special projects, as needed
Requirements- Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in international travel and study abroad
-Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's degree.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/interest in Web maintenance
-*Special consideration will be given to those applicants with extensive travel and study abroad experience*
