Description

Internship is for a fast-growing online literary magazine about motherhood. The intern will be responsible for magazine promotion through social media and for developing and implementing a marketing plan to connect the magazine to community organizations. The intern can work from home online and will have access to the editor for weekly meetings or more often as guidance is needed. Interns may also be asked to work with magazine graphics. Interns will learn the working of an online magazine, the editing process, and the marketing/promotion process.

Responsibilities

Intern will be asked daily to use Facebook, pinterest, twitter to promote the magazine and to connect with readers. Intern will be asked to reach out to reviewers and bloggers to publicize the magazine and form joint ventures. Intern may also be asked with work with the graphics of the magazine as well as read submitted writing pieces for initial screening. Intern would assist with the creation of a media kit to offer sponsorship opportunities to interested businesses. The intern will also be asked to assist in setting up an online shop.

Requirements

Intern should have solid understanding of the use of social media for promotion as well as marketing coursework sufficient to assist in the development of a marketing plan and the creation of a media kit to obtain sponsorships.
