Position: Creative Writing Ninja
Location: Virtual. Work from home.
Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours a week for 20 weeks. (200 hours)

You will work directly with the co-founder of the company and get the inside, behind-the-scenes view of a start-up, virtual, national/international company. You will have access to a variety of training materials on sales, marketing, internship program management, and other topics, worth thousands of dollars. Successful interns will receive a top-notch letter of recommendation and referrals to important business and employment contacts. In addition, we will gladly help you arrange for academic credit.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Creative Writing Ninja, you can expect to do all or some of the following:
Developing a newsletter from beginning to end by helping us find and work with a newsletter service like Constant Contact; create auto-responder messages, send out email broadcasts to colleagues, client, customers, and business networks, respond to email inquiries on the businesses’ behalf; creating a template with all of our company graphics and layout – our Graphic Designers will help you with the layout and graphic placement; create the content to connect 4 key elements to our newsletter – blog, website, social media and promotion of the company; work with our Business Data Dynamo person to pull the email list; create attention grabbing strategies to increase community awareness, comment on other blogs, set up Google ads and RSS feeds, and schedule the newsletter release and gather analytics so we can learn what works and what doesn’t. and. You do not need to be an expert, but rather have a thirst for learning about our company and growing as a professional writer!
This is a learning environment; we don't expect you to know everything! The Writing Ninja team is a collaborative one where you will have the chance to learn, teach, and discover the best practices together. Applicants with prior educational and/or work experience in business writing are preferred, but WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON who is enthusiastic, dedicated, and willing to learn.
Skills and Abilities:
Previous business writing is a plus and previous blogging, digital publication, and editing experience is desired. Experience with WordPress is a plus, but not required. Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, excellent verbal and written communication skills; adaptable to changes in projects and priorities, proficiency with email, the Internet, MS Office, and learning user-friendly software; able to multi-task and work independently; punctual, and able to attend Skype meetings once or twice a week (we will work with your schedule) as well as be able to attend 10 company meetings (also through Skype) and bi-weekly training sessions intended to help you gain the professional skills and career tactics to secure your dream job!
