If you have the self discipline to work remotely, this is the internship for you. It is a great opportunity to strengthen your resume and your writing and editing skills while helping a nonprofit organization. You may publish your work by writing and editing content for a unique, best-in-class educational software on personal finance for 16-19-year-olds. If you cannot commit to an entire internship, choose assignments instead. Read on for a list of writing and editing assignments.

The Organization
App to Succeed Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that aims to provide best-in-class, comprehensive personal finance information for at-risk Americans to enable them to become and remain financially responsible, self-sufficient and successful.

The program currently being developed is a unique, highly-interactive learning experience for American high school students. The assignment is to write content for this educational program. You will edit content and add to content as needed. Writing guidelines are available.

Regretfully, as a nonprofit, we are not, yet, able to pay our interns, but we do offer other forms of compensation:
1. Exceptional interns who make a significant contribution will receive personal letter of recommendation written by the CEO instead of the certificate.
2. Completing your commitment to the internship and your name will be acknowledged on the organizations' website and in the credits of the software program when published.
3. Earn academic credit and / or community service hours, with your school's approval.
4. Complete your assignments and meet expectations,and you will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation
5. Learn about personal finance as you research and write about relevant topics.
6. Flexibility:
-Hours are flexible
-Start dates and end dates are flexible.
-Work can be done remotely and meetings can be held by Skype, or by phone, saving the time and cost of
- Many of our interns have a paid job not related to their career and intern with us as their career related experience.


Choose your assignments:
Edit educational software program teen-friendly content.
Take other interns' writing on given topics and combine it to make a segment of content.
Create social media posts.
Write blog entries.
Design and develop unique assessments of the material you write about.
Do you like to organize or like to be in control? Manage the glossary or the footnote spread sheet?
Submit drafts, review comments on your drafts, make revisions and resubmit until piece is approved.

6. Editing existing drafts and script
7. Write grant proposals


Freelance Writers, professional writers, college students with superior writing and editing skills are encouraged to apply.
1-2 brief writing samples on any topic from your previous work (school assignments, articles, etc. are fine)
Writing and editing experience and interest in career in writing / journalism or related field is strongly preferred. .
See the assignment through to completion.
Ability to communicate his/her questions, ideas, and status of progress as appropriate.
Ability to think and write like a journalist, gather information and present the important content concisely.
Creativity, a sense of humor and the ability to write to engage teens is preferred.
Prior knowledge of personal finance is not needed.
