Always be on the alert for potentially fraudulent job postings online - never send money to a potential employer.
DescriptionWomen in Technology International (WITI), is currently looking for two interns who are willing to take on administrative duties, as well as the editing and writing of articles and webinars for the website. We are in the middle of a restructuring period, so all interns will help to give the entire website a new structure. Administrative duties include:
Posting articles to social media
Sending reminder emails to all contributors who have upcoming articles (about a week in advance)
Adding events to the Partner and Network calendars
Checking to make sure all links are correct and that they direct users appropriately
Using the ADMIN entrance to the WITI website to publish articles, organize content, and work on web pages *some HTML coding can be taught
Validating that grammar is correct
Assisting with copy-edits on articles and web pages
Writing content summaries and synopses
Learning to use a style sheet
Assisting with making lists for HTML language and for new projects
Maintaining databases for the editorial team and sending team updates
Talking weekly with the president of the company and other necessary calls
Checking the Submissions and Videos for publication
Working with various media to publish on the website and in the newsletter
Researching and contacting recent and archived contributors to build new Author Pages for each person who has provided content
Interns should have an interest in English, grammar, and editing, due to the copy-editing involved. They should be self-motivated, with leadership qualities that enable them to work independently or with a team. Being detail-oriented is a must. They need not be an English major, however, because WITI is a STEM-related company. Interns should be willing to work 10-15 hours in order to gain experience restructuring a department, building up a network, and helping to organize a company who has been online since 1989.
Students interested in this internship can opt for a 6-8 week time period depending on their availability. This internship will be online-based, therefore students need not travel. Any student interested should send a resume and a writing sample to the following email: email@example.com.
All the best,
