DescriptionI am an award winning TV writer who works from my home office in Connecticut. I have almost 20 years experience writing for TV and I am currently looking for interns to help me work an a new series I wrote and will be shooting and in return I will help them improve their own writing techniques if they want to write for TV and film. I currently have 4 interns who will be leaving shortly when they graduate which is why I am looking for new interns. The internship will also involve accompanying me to screenings in NY and watching current movies/tv shows to become familiar with the marketplace.
In addition to writing for TV I have had plays done in NYC and regional theatre. Basically - any form of writing that is intertwined with the visual and dialogue. I teach my interns everything about writing, from how to have a precipitating event that should set a chain of events in motion that once set in motion can't be stopped. And how to how to create A/B/C stories and how to write Character Bibles and how to finish a script that will sell. I also provide opportunities to interns so they can move on in the industry after they have worked for me.
Since I work at home I can work around individual schedules and each internship is tailor made depending on the interest of the applicant - as long as it's centered around writing for an audience. Each intern should leave this internship with a marketable teleplay or screenplay.
