About Elite Research
Elite Research, LLC (www.eliteresearch.com) is a research, technical editing, and statistical consulting firm, with headquarters located just outside of Dallas, TX. They seek a limited number of part-time internships for students or editors looking to gain experience editing in APA and other style guides. Interns will gain hands-on training and experience in reviewing and editing many documents, including manuscripts, proposals, academic papers, and other reports. Students or editors who are interested in learning content writing or general editing should apply. We offer a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment, and are looking for individuals who are detail oriented, remain self-motivated, take direction well, and are interested in continually learning new procedures and topics.

Responsibilities

About the Internship
The writing/editing intern’s main role is to gain clear understanding of specific style guides, apply learning to internal and client documents, and build a solid foundation in the business’ editing procedures and style. Intern may write for website content, be involved in on-site development meetings, and put certain proposals and manual pieces together.

The intern will support the Editing Department and can expect hands-on work with various types of technical documents, website media, and content strategy. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a diverse, collaborative, and thriving atmosphere.

Requirements

Required Skills
• Working knowledge of APA 6th Edition style guide
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Solid command of the English language
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work on a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Personal Characteristics
• Demonstrate quality in attention to detail
• Work as a self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Balance multiple priorities and projects
• Show the ability to meet several deadlines
Experience
• Experience in a writing center/lab preferred or equivalent industry experience
