It's not too late for a Summer or Fall Internship with Long Beach Opera's Development Department!

Hello prospective interns!

LBO is looking for energetic, driven students to help with summer operations as we prepare for our upcoming fundraising gala. Learn about event planning, including managing a silent auction, building meaningful relationships with donors, meeting important people in the Long Beach, OC, and LA Arts Communities, and experiencing the great feeling of raising money for a non-profit arts organization.

The arts are an essential part of any community, and you have the power to support the arts in Long Beach by spending a summer with LBO. Whether you're a performing arts student who wants to gain experience behind the scenes at a performing arts organization, or you have a specific interest in business development, working as an intern for LBO development will give you a chance to develop your creative problem solving skills, giving you a big advantage above recent graduates as you search for work in the SoCal job market.

The dates and times for this internship fit entirely around your schedule; we ask for 10-16 hours of your time per week. Our office hours are 9AM - 6PM, Monday through Friday, and you can fulfill the time of your internship during those hours any time of the week. Enrollment dates are flexible as well; it's never too late to apply for an internship at LBO.

Jobs after graduation are difficult to come by; build valuable experience at LBO!

Kind Regards,
Michelle Packman
LBO Development

Your duties as a summer/fall intern will primarily be organizing a silent auction for the 2014 Gala. Other responsibilities may include helping with other, smaller events like donor salons and gatherings, assisting development employees as they fulfill donor gifts, and conducting research on current and potential donors.
At LBO, all of our interns have real responsibilities and jobs they can include proudly on a resume. You won't have to get anybody coffee at LBO.
We look forward to meeting you!
