These days, the news seems to change by the hour. It can feel impossible to know what to believe, what to read, and what to ignore. Limiting your exposure to by-the-minute updates is a great way to protect your mental health. At the same time, it’s important to stay aware of what’s going on so that you can protect yourself and others.

If you’re looking for accurate, timely information about the COVID-19 pandemic, check out Carnegie Mellon University’s COVIDCast.

The website contains five interactive maps that allow you to view signals related to COVID-19 activity levels across the country. You can view results based on number of doctor visits, Facebook survey results that reported COVID symptoms, Google survey results that reported COVID symptoms, general search trends, and flu tests.

You can sort by state, country, or metropolitan area to see if there’s heightened COVID-19 activity in your area. Then, you can plan accordingly to keep yourself and others safe and sound!
