The average job receives hundreds of resumes for a single opening—so it’s up to you to grab the reader’s attention from the start! Review our nurse resume samples below for suggested phrasing, structure, and content when you apply to an internship or entry-level job. Remember that the examples below are meant as guides only. Your resume needs to reflect your value-add for the specific role to which you’re applying. Use a format that speaks to you, and include your unique academic and professional achievements.
To increase your odds of a callback, ensure that your nursing resume:
- Highlights any specialized training you have and the medical settings in which you have worked (e.g., ER, primary care physician’s office, ICU, nursing homes, children’s wards, etc.). Also include a list of any languages you speak, as bilingual nurses are in high demand.
- Specifies the ages and number of patients you have worked with in different jobs.
- Identifies coursework and certifications relevant to the nursing position to which you’re applying, as well as core trainings you’re completed (e.g., CPR, AED, and Gatekeeper training).
