The average job receives hundreds of resumes for a single opening—so it’s up to you to grab the reader’s attention from the start! Review our sales and business development resume sample below for suggested sections, key traits, and general inspiration. Remember that the example below is meant as a guide only. Your resume needs to reflect your value-add for the specific role to which you’re applying. Use a format that speaks to you, and include your unique academic and professional achievements.

To increase your odds of a callback, ensure that your business resume:

  • Highlights your experience managing, supervising, and training employees, as those are key roles fulfilled by entry-level managers. Leadership roles in extracurricular activities count, too.
  • Includes the quantifiable impact of your successes in managerial roles (e.g., “Implemented new client records database, providing sales staff with 24/7 access to client records, which led to a 15% improvement in response time to customer queries”).
  • Identifies management training you completed, including advanced college coursework and acquired certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt Certified).
