What does a graphic artist do?
A graphic artist uses technology and artistic skills to create designs. Almost every industry has a need for a graphic design artist. Your primary goal is to work with clients by creating packages, signs, company logos, and layouts. Some graphic artists specialize in website design, advertising, or multimedia.
The specialty of graphic design is that you combine technology and art, which creates a visually communicative design. Your work is usually seen in advertising, media, magazines, book covers, restaurant menus, album covers, and clothing.
At the outset, you meet or communicate with clients and understand their needs. Based on the requirements and the budget, you create a design on a computer or by hand. You might have to make modifications until the work is approved by the client.
Skills required to be a graphic artist are artistic ability, creativity, knowledge of specialized graphic design software, an ability to meet deadlines, and strong communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in graphic design is usually required by employers in this field.
