Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation is seeking an intern to help organize successful events and connect our non-profit organization with the community. This is an unpaid internship for students looking to receive academic credit to gain further knowledge in the marketing and public relations industry. The schedule ranges between 15 to 20 hours a week and will be flexible based upon Lil' Iguana events throughout the week.


The Marketing Intern in our Nashua, NH office will be responsible for a variety of tasks to connect our nonprofit to the public through social media and press. We are putting a large focus on developing our audience on social media and would like you to assist in these efforts. A successful candidate will be able to work independently on all projects and tasks throughout the day. This summer will have community events and hosted events including Lil' Iguana's Fun in the Sun Color Run.

 

An ideal intern will be creative in developing worthwhile online content, finding appropriate information outlets and developing new strategies for outreach. A basic understanding of Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, SEO, and online trends is a plus. Lil' Iguana also would need assistance in creating youth-based blog posts for our online resource platform and mindfulness lesson activity boxes.

 

This is a great opportunity to develop your communication skills with a small team dedicated to the safety and well-being of children. We will offer hands-on learning in order to develop important skills applicable to future communications work with organizations.


Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop content ideas for the Lil’ Iguana’s Brand
  • Brainstorm and schedule social media posts over multiple platforms
  • Effectively communicate Lil’ Iguana’s mission accurately and consistently
  • Create campaigns to increase engagement with the Lil’ Iguana brand
  • Produce story ideas about Lil’ Iguana that can be sent to news outlets
  • Answer and direct phone calls in our office
  • Help with other tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Must be receiving course credit, this is an unpaid internship
  • Must be available to assist on some weekends
  • Knowledge of Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Dropbox 
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions on new events
  • Basic photography/video production and editing skills
  • Experience with Adobe Suite a plus
  • Ability to communicate our mission effectively

About Lil' Iguana's Children's Safety Foundation

The Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation is a New Hampshire based 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation that provides in-person and virtual programming, teaching guides and worksheets, educational music and interactive products to teach over 20 safety and well-being lessons to save kids from abuse, neglect, and serious accidental injuries while instilling self-worth, respect, and manners. Lil’ Iguana’s music based educational programs are presented in elementary schools, child care facilities, and community events throughout the US and feature lessons like Buckle-Up, Street Smarts, Get Permission, Who’s a Stranger, and Run, Run, Run, Yell & Tell! Lil’ Iguana’s programming has been credited with saving countless children, with the youngest child being just age three. Lil’ Iguana’s programs focus on proactive teaching for children ages 2-10.
