Sports Planning Guide is currently seeking dedicated individuals looking to utilize a sports tourism internship opportunity to polish their business, writing and marketing skills and learn how the youth and amateur sports industry operates by helping us create content that takes into consideration all the elements needed for successful sports events. Accepted interns working toward this goal will emerge with a strong understanding of the sports events landscape and be better prepared to enter the field.
Internship responsibilities
• Research sports organizations and collect information
• Research and write articles for publication
• Assist the editorial department in story research and photo acquisition
• Create and post social media content across multiple platforms
• Assist with content scheduling and marketing
• Communicate with clients in various capacities via phone or email
Benefits

Interns will have the opportunity to significantly bolster their portfolio and receive guidance and training from experts in content creation for both print and online publication. There is also the potential for freelance as well as part-time and full-time opportunities upon successful completion of the internship.
Hours and location
For three months during any period of the year, interns generally work two to three days a week for about seven hours at a time at our Willowbrook, Illinois office. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. We offer a flexible schedule and relaxed, personable work environment. Remote internships are also available, but to make the most of the internship we recommend working at the office.

• Understanding of our target market an industry
• Proficient writing skills
• Interest in sports
• Meeting deadlines
• Social media skills and basic understanding of SEO
• Proficiency with spreadsheets preferred
Relevant Majors
Our typical interns are pursuing a track in Sports Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or English. We've also had Business tracks successfully complete our internship program.
