Start date: 06/10/2024Duration: 8 Weeks
Paid Internship

Description

Fleet Feet's paid summer internship program is dedicated to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce by actively seeking out and engaging with promising individuals from underrepresented communities. Through this program, we strive to dismantle systemic barriers and bridge disparities in access to opportunities. By embracing interns of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, orientations, and abilities, our internship program aims to foster a vibrant and inclusive workplace culture that celebrates uniqueness and empowers all to thrive while contributing to our Fleet Feet success.

Fleet Feet's 9-week-long summer internship program will allow interns to put classroom learning into practice. Our internship experience focuses on professional development (think impactful work and stretch assignments), mentorship, networking, skills development, and on-the-job training across two areas.

We have internship opportunities across a variety of departments including our amazon team, business development, digital operations (e-commerce), finance, human resources, marketing, purchasing, retail experience & education, sales operations, and vendor management, and we’re always seeking driven and collaborative people to join the team.

We believe Running Changes Everything. If you believe that, too, we want to talk. With more than 250 stores and a robust e-commerce site, Fleet Feet is the largest running retailer in the country. Catering to more than runners, we pride ourselves on having an inclusive environment! We believe it’s a privilege to serve and remain committed to delivering unmatched service and support when outfitting customers in everything they need to have a successful run, whether that’s introducing them to their new favorite running shoes, socks, or gear, or inviting them to our next training program run. We like to keep things high-spirited, fast-paced, and fun. We don’t mind wearing more than a few hats and stepping in to help out wherever is needed. We are a group of knowledgeable and hardworking individuals who work, sweat, and live passionately. We run together to solve a problem, reach a goal, get encouraged, and champion our brand every single day. We are in full pursuit to find hardworking people to join us on our quest and bring our core values to life.

Fleet Feet is a people-first organization, and our interns are no exception. Fleet Feet interns will bring value with every action and be the future of our brand.

Open to a remote position with the opportunity to travel to Fleet Feet’s Headquarters in Carrboro, North Carolina twice during their internship. Local employees are working in the office 2-3 days per week if you are interested in a hybrid internship.

The deadline to submit applications is October 31, 2023.

While crafting our internship program experience, our goal was to hear directly from you, the intern, on what areas you want to focus on and learn more about. Please choose your top 3 departments from the list below, that you'd like to focus on during your immersive rotational internship experience and include these in your application in order of preference. Since you will only have 2 rotations, we will do our best to ensure your 2 rotations are your top 2 preferences.

  • Amazon
  • Business Development
  • Digital Operations (E-Commerce)
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Marketing
  • Purchasing
  • Retail Experience & Education
  • Sales Operations
  • Vendor Management

Some departments may have opportunities where you can rotate between different areas of one department (Digital Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, or Finance). These departments have several areas of focus which still allows our interns to have a rotational experience. We will discuss this with you on your initial call.

What Interns will gain:
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Explore a career path, specifically in two areas of focus
  • Network with other interns, peers, and company leaders
  • Growth through continuous coaching, mentoring, and feedback
  • Presentation skills
  • Skills in communicating effectively
  • Leading meetings
