SWAN’s mission is to deliver accessible, immersive, and authentic Mandarin language learning opportunities and foster deep connections to Chinese culture. We empower learners with language and cultural competence to successfully navigate a global community. While providing early language learning opportunities that take full advantage of both traditional and innovative teaching techniques, advanced technologies, and strategic partnerships, SWAN seeks to share its best practices and replicate its success. SWAN is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that has been serving the community for over 25 years. SWAN’s Teaching Interns gain hands-on experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and child development. While this position is unpaid, it is eligible for community service hours, school credit, and/or the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. This position is on-site. Schedule is flexible, weekdays afternoons from 2:15pm-6pm and/or Saturday mornings.

Requirements

  • A passion for SWAN's mission!
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and a high school or college student
  • Must be able to speak Mandarin in the classroom
  • An interest in working with kids

About The Shuang Wen Academy Network

Founded in 1998 as a non-profit, community-based organization, Shuang Wen Academy Network (SWAN) started out as an after-school program. SWAN has since been established as an independent organization that offers Preschool, After School, Summer Camp, and Virtual Mandarin Immersion programs that serve hundreds of families from a variety of backgrounds each year. SWAN’s vision is to prepare the next generation of global leaders in bilingual English and Mandarin capabilities so they can succeed in an increasingly global environment.
