Description
This unpaid internship for a Master's in Counseling is a hands-on, learning opportunity designed to provide students with practical and real-world experience with an emphasis on client-centered therapy. Interns will be given the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge, enhance practical skills, and develop a deeper understanding of the complexities of working with diverse populations.
Key Components:
- Direct Client Interaction: Interns will work directly with clients under the supervision of licensed professional.
- Observation and Shadowing: Interns will observe experienced practitioners in action, gaining insights into different therapeutic techniques, assessment methods, and intervention strategies.
- Case Management: Interns will actively participate in case management, including documentation, progress notes, and collaboration with multidisciplinary professionals.
- Professional Development: Interns will engage in regular supervision and reflective sessions with designated supervisor.
Required graduation year
2024 - 2026
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a clinical or mental health counseling Masters program
- Familiarity with counseling techniques and therapeutic approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis methods
- Experience or interest in working in the private practice sector
Note: This is an internship position. Compensation is unpaid, but may have the opportunity to earn a stipend.
