Environmental Services Intern Stantec - Nashville, TN3.7 4 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $42,000 - $56,000 a year Apply Now Education * Bachelor's Degree * Master's Degree Skills * Driver's License * AutoCAD * Microsoft Office Your Opportunity Stantec's Environmental Services (ES) practice has opportunities for highly motivated Civil Engineering summer interns to join our team in Nashville, TN. This approximately 8 week internship will begin in June, requiring at least 40 hours/week. As an Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to ES projects which may include assisting with environmental remediation / investigation tasks and providing site assessment, remedial investigation, and support for complex environmental remediation projects at sites with multi-media contamination that includes solvents, fuels, metals, PCBs. This is a terrific opportunity for college students to support a few exciting local and national projects. Your Key Responsibilities Field data collection and analysis including logging soil and rock cores and / or including installing monitoring wells, etc.; Assisting with aquifer testing and groundwater flow evaluations; Soil, groundwater, surface water, and / or air sampling for analytical analysis; Data compilation, and report generation to meet client and industry requirements; and Assisting engineers and other professionals in the preparation of contract documents and reports Your Capabilities and Credentials Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Minimum requirements include Microsoft Office Suite and some exposure to AutoCAD Design programs Enthusiastic and motivated to learn and develop technical skills Ability to collaborate with professionals Valid drivers license Willingness to work outdoors Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Education and Experience In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree (minimum) or Masters in civil, chemical, water resources and environmental engineering or related field Typical office environment working includes working with computers and at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
