Do you find yourself entranced by sleek user interface or do you get excited about engaging web design? We're looking for a Visual Design Intern to assist our design team in producing visually stimulating websites, share graphics, and marketing collateral. The ideal candidate has experience designing for the web and is proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Sketch. Applicants should be current college or graduate students, majoring in art, graphic design, or visual communications. We're happy to help you arrange for academic credit. This internship is located in Alexandria, VA (in the Washington DC metro area) and you must be able to work on-site. This internship can be part or full time based on your availability (we're flexible). This is a paid internship. We welcome foreign students who can acquire work authorization (F-1, J-1, etc) to apply for all of our internships. Qualifications: Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch App, and Invision Basic understanding of the rules of user interface design Experience or understanding of brand standards and style guides Comprehension of responsive design elements Attention to detail, an eye for design and typography in web layouts Interest in politics and government affairs Bonus: Some knowledge of CSS and HTML Portfolio or work samples are required.
