The interns daily activities will include sample preparation, data generation and management, and documentation across a wide range of projects. The intern will comply will all required safety practices. Close daily supervision, training, and priority setting will be provided. Qualifications Skills Required: This position requires the ability to quickly learn new techniques in surfactant characterization, to make careful observations and measurements, and to accurately document results. Adaptability to changing priorities and time management skills are critical to success, as high-throughput productivity in data generation is of primary importance in this position. Working knowledge of basic chemistry principles such as stoichiometry, mass balance, and mole balance is a prerequisite, as is hands-on experience in routine laboratory manipulations such as preparation of solutions. Prior experience in characterization of surfactants will be beneficial but is not strictly required. Basic computer skills in the use of Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and POWERPOINT are highly preferred. Credentials Required: The suitable candidate for this position will, at minimum, be a college student working towards fulfilling the degree requirements of a B.S. in Chemistry or closely-related field.
