If so, this position could very well be for you: Position: Laboratory Technician Internship Location: Libertyville, IL Salary: $15.00 per hour Job Summary: Becoming a Lab Tech Intern with the Lake County Public Works Department will require you to complete work of moderate difficulty working under the directions of a supervisor to perform a variety of routine analytical testing and field sampling related to water distribution, stream, river, and waste water treatment plant by-products. This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping, sample preparation, sample bottle and glassware cleaning, analytical testing, equipment maintenance, and some data entry. To be successful in this position, candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with co-workers and supervisors. Having some experience in one or more of the following would be an advantage: environmental sampling, wet chemistry testing, exposure to analytical equipment, and biological testing. General computer skills are required. A high school diploma is required. Course work in chemistry, biology, and/or environmental science is desirable. You must also possess a valid Drivers License, supplemented by a satisfactory driving record. The intern will work approximately 40 hours per week for up to 15 weeks.
