You will be working on new cutting-edge Digital Risk solutions looking for threats to our customers assets. Ideal candidates will have a perfect blend of technical skills and an investigative mindset. As a member of this team, you will bring a proactive mindset to all aspects of this position. Over the course of your internship, youll have the opportunity to: Work alongside our world class data scientists, security researchers, data engineers and analysts. Work on the same projects that the team works on to help drive the company and products forward. We expect you to work towards becoming a valuable contributor to the team as you get to work on the same challenging projects that the full-time engineers work on. Build scalable, cost-efficient and fault-tolerant architecture to serve the growing traffic demands and storage demands. Opportunity to work on integration projects that will involve internal and external integrations. At Proofpoint, we realize the significance of mentorship to help interns grow and develop in the areas that they want to improve. You will be assigned a full-time engineer to mentor and guide you to success. Of course, you will also have rest of the team available for any help that you will need. There will be bi-weekly 1:1s with the hiring manager to make sure that things are going on track and to get feedback. Our infrastructure runs on AWS, so come prepared to get your hands dirty on the various AWS services. Your Current Super-Skills Pursuing a degree in computer science or a related field. Interest in security topics with a desire to learn. Basic understanding of how the internet works. Experience with Python, Java or any other programming language. Good understanding of standard algorithms and data structures. Experience with regular expressions. Knowledge of configuring and using Linux systems. Ability to learn quickly. Appetite to learn and constantly improving yourself. Understanding of databases. Your Superhero Profile You have the ability and interest in working part time (30 hours/week at maximum) onsite in our Sunnyvale office . You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree , and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.0 or higher. This internship is scheduled to begin immediately and end on approximately August 30, 2019.
