Development & Public Relations Intern - Part Time, Jackson, MS Canopy is seeking an intern to join our team. We are working on exciting new developments, and will offer a solid educational experience to interns of all educational levels. In this role, the Development amp; Public Relations Intern will become a part of our team and learn about all facets of how we serve our children and families. All Internship opportunities are non-paid and may be used for course credits pending your academic institutionrsquo;s approval. This internship will provide experience in non-profit donor relations and assisting the organizational special events. It's essential that applicants in this position have strong communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details. Through this internship you will work with a dynamic team of staff and volunteers who are highly committed to the Canopy mission. You will gain exposure to a variety of skill sets as you help to support major special events, assist with our fundraising endeavors, plan and deliver patient education and support programs as well as marketing and awareness initiatives.What you gain from working with our organization will serve as a roadmap for your future career endeavors. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and a Marketing/Business major is preferred. Must be a current student and in good standing with their educational institution and working towards a Bachelorrsquo;s or Masterrsquo;s degree. Prefer student with experience in communications field such as journalism, business, public relations, marketing, news broadcasting, intercultural communications, education, public administration or seeking a liberal arts education. Experience with graphic design, social media, and video editing are helpful. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to perform well in an environment that values compassion, helpfulness, patience, and resourcefulness. Must be at least eighteen years old and possess a valid driverrsquo;s license and the ability to be covered by agency insurance provider. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English, and to communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner.
