Job Summary: -Provides career development through career exploration by placement in a construction management office and field office along with hands on field experience. Intern will perform duties directly related to construction management functions. Students or Graduates seeking internship placement that will provide a meaningful work experience and that compliments their career goals. During the internship the student is expected to be directly involved in several construction management-related duties such as cost estimating, project scheduling, labor management, subcontractor management, field operations and reporting, contract administration and the like. These duties can be performed in the field, in a project office or in the home office. This job could turn out to be a permanent position based on performance. Roles and Responsibilities: The primary goal of the construction management advanced internship at Titan is to help students or graduates develop a comprehensive, real-world perspective of construction operations and professional construction management functions with the focus on long term career advancement. * Landscape Intern project managers are responsible for ensuring outdoor areas look their best. Special attention must be made for each individual clienteles specific needs and wants. These professionals should have good communication and management skills and should work well within small teams. They must also be skilled in every aspect of the construction project from pre-qualification to close-out. * Landscape Intern project managers control the construction project from start to finish. Their pre-construction responsibilities may include consulting with clients on their project, completing take-offs and cost estimates, generating contracts and proposals, and closing sales. Landscape Intern project managers are responsible for all aspects of construction from start to finish. This includes planning sequences of work, purchasing and logistics of equipment and materials, supervising on site labor forces, construction and customer quality assurance, and project closeout. * Landscape Intern project managers report to the Operations manager and split their time between working in the office and managing in the field. Office work may include record-keeping, activity tracking, and document collection associated with the management of projects. - Qualifications and Education Requirements: * Associates or bachelors in construction management or related field experience * Studying for a bachelors degree in Business, Construction Management or Engineering degree * Construction Background preferred but not required A qualified candidate should have at least some experience in the following daily aspects of construction: * Plan the overall construction of landscaping projects, order and purchase materials, transfer equipment needed to construct project, and control overall site layout and logistics. * Communicate with client throughout construction process for quality assurance. * Supervise and train labor force on the construction project for adherence of design or drawings and common landscaping practices. * Estimate quantity & material take-offs from construction drawings or on-site measurements. * Scheduling on a daily basis for upwards of 5+ projects and 20+ employees. * Collection and data entry of project documents into historical data sheets and cloud server document storage. (i.e. daily logs, submittals, material costs, labor hours, production times) * Close out projects and calculate final cost take-offs to discuss with head construction manager on outcome and overall success of the project. - Preferred Skills and Abilities: * Technology Skills (Excel, Word, e-mail, cell phone, AutoCAD/Sketch-up, Cloud Software) * Ability to come up with designs and landscaping solutions on the fly during client consultations. * Ability to work independently and in teams under low supervision. * Spanish speaking or at least some working knowledge of common landscaping term/phrases. * Sound communication and written skills * Proficiency in using estimating programs - Additional Notes: Titan, LLC. provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
