This job brought to you by Careerbuilder Location : Bloomington, Indiana Job Description: The IU Communications Science News & Media intern will pursue and write news stories and content for all audiences of Indiana University, with a strong focus on science and technology, including writing news items based on sources such as grant abstracts, scientific papers and interviews with scientists at IU. These communications will be targeted to the general reader, including IU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external media. The intern will gain experience writing news releases and briefs, engaging feature stories, creating infographics, and shooting photos and video, along with exposure in social media and marketing channels. Candidates require strong writing skills, including a passion for science topics and desire to communication complex or technical information in an engaging and understandable manner. Additional qualities sought include a multimedia skills, a keen attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and an ear for interesting stories. Experience with science and technology topics, web content management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, organizational social media strategy, graphic design and video storytelling are a plus.
