This position is a temporary position with a 10 week minimum duration with the possibility of extension. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of clients, including: Duke Energy, North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program, US Department of Defense, and NC Department of Transportation. Key Responsibilities: * Perform data mining and data organization tasks * Perform spatial analysis on a wide variety of datasets * Support other GIS staff with project tasks * Create maps and reports for delivery to clients Skills / Qualifications Role Requirements: * Must be pursing an undergraduate degree in Geography, GIS, or related field * Relevant work experience or coursework with GIS analysis and mapping * Strong understanding of GIS ESRI software and data management structures and needs * Strong understanding of cartography and cartographic principles * Strong organization skills * Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) * Good oral and written communication skills * Ability to work alone or within a team Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in programming languages such as Python, .NET and Java * Tool creation using ESRI ModelBuilder * Time management and multi-tasking ability Pay is negotiable based on qualifications If you believe you have the necessary knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to succeed in this position, then we would like to hear from you.
