L&OD is searching for an energetic student to support its role of training State Fund employees so that we become the carrier of choice. This opportunity will provide you exposure to a unique industry, experience in an office setting, and understand what skills are important in the workplace. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore career development opportunities and preview our company for permanent employment. Our Human Resources Department will assist students to navigate through the civil service hiring and examination process. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. Work Schedule Summer intern working 40 hours per week. Additional Work Schedule Student Assistants and Graduate Student Assistants generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday-Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (Winter, Spring and Summer). Another work schedule option for students working off campus through the California Intern Network is to work 28 hours per week, year-round. Position Description Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this summer internship position, you must be graduating from high school this year (2019) and either accepted into a two or four year college or university for the Fall 2019 term OR currently enrolled in a two or four year college or university. Students do NOT have to be enrolled and attending classes during the summer to be considered for the position. Students major/field of study must match the major(s) listed in this job announcement. Duties and Responsibilities * Assist with organizing content in L&OD SharePoint site so that it is organized, items are easily accessible, and we are abiding by the retention schedule for our materials. * Assist with organizing content in L&OD Shared drive so that it is organized, items are easily accessible, and we are abiding by the retention schedule for our materials. * Create curated lists of training based on topics (i.e. leadership, writing skills, time management, Claims, etc.). * Create a calendar of courses that need periodic updates based on content changing. * Organize classroom and training materials. * Assist with preparing and organizing materials for various events and training sessions. * Assist with creating materials for various conferences and training events. * Assist with logistical arrangements for various events and training classes. Physical Requirements Abie to lift 25 pounds; sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, scanners, and fax machines, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
