Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Lynden's structure provides employees with the family environment of a smaller company, and the competitiveness, expectations and rewards of a large, global organization. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Picks up supplies and parts for the Maintenance Department using company vehicle, as assigned or as necessary. Reports any abnormal conditions or discovered discrepancies to appropriate supervisory personnel. Assist supply and logistics department with administrative tasks, projects, and other miscellaneous duties. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Successful candidates should be currently enrolled in undergraduate program. Candidates are required to have high school diploma or general education degree (GED). LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to speak clearly and produce quality written communications. Ability to effectively present information to Individuals or small groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to operate fax, copier, scanner, and other basic office equipment. Preferred but not required experience using modern software tools for web based work, such as, Oracle, SQL Server, and Btrieve databases, along with MS Expression, Crystal Reports, SharePoint Enterprise features, SharePoint Designer. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud.
