Software Intern-005CN5 Description Software Co-op Reports to: Taner Yildirim Line of Business: Energy and Sustainability Services Services Business Department: Technology Location: Victoria, BC. We are seeking a coop student to join our technology team for 4 (extensible to 8) months. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile team environment and help us advance our cloud-based energy management and information systems. The Coop student will be primarily responsible for coding and/or testing enterprise applications (backend and frontend) per client requirements. Responsibilities & Key Tasks * Requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit testing, debugging and maintenance of our software applications * Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices * Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting * Follow our agile software development process * Other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications Essential * Knowledge of software development process and technologies * Experience with Web applications, programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3 * Experience with cloud computing platform and services * Data modeling and database design experience. * Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc) and API design for extensibility and portability * Positive attitude, enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment to quality * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Team player is a MUST * Ability to learn quickly * Good problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills Desirable * Basic understanding of software Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. * Experience with working in distributed teams * Experience with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket * Experience in Atlasian tools like Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence Our core values at Schneider Electric are; Customer First, Dare to Disrupt, Embrace Different, Learn Everyday and Act Like Owners.
