This job brought to you by America's Job Exchange Type: Full Time Location : Columbia, South Carolina Job Description: Job Description The Challenge: * Participate in a development role on an Agile team with other engineers * Develop high quality code for new Scout features * Develop automated unit tests for features. * Produce development artifacts for features produced (design documents, unit tests, acceptance tests, code reviews, etc.) * Give input to ongoing process improvement discussions (continuous improvement) The Vision: As a member of the Development Team, you will have the opportunity to support Avtec s goals of creating new features and processes. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of software engineering, quality assurance, and general development skills. Every day can be different, and it is your responsibility to learn and optimistically support the Engineering department and your team. This internship runs during the summer of 2019 and is intended to be a full-time role. End date TBD with manager based on school/class schedule. This role is not designed to be performed remotely; candidate must be able to work on-site at our facility in Lexington, SC. The Candidate: A successful candidate will consistently engage with his/her team to ensure results from start to finish. S/he will have the ability to work well with customers, both internally and externally, to ensure a positive experience aligning with Avtec s culture. Main responsibilities include: * Design/code/test new features for Avtec s Scout product line * Work with software development team to coordinate development of new software features and resolve issues The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate degree (or have equivalent work experience) majoring in Engineering / Computer Science (or other relevant major) and will have already completed at least 2-3 classes on basic programming (JavaScript / HTML). Programming experience with C#, C++, and/or SQL a plus.
