Manufacturing Engineer Intern Armstrong Fluid Technology - North Tonawanda, NY 9 hours agoPart-timeEstimated: $50,000 - $69,000 a year Apply Now Skills * CAD * SolidWorks * Microsoft Office Job Summary/Basic Function: * Primary technical support to the Operations organization. * Incoming supplier part qualification. * Design and process validation and continuous improvement. Specific Duties/Essential Functions: * ECO review and processing. * Supplier part qualification and PPAP process application. * Review of API Engineering drawings. * Assist in processing EAR (Engineering Action Requests) to improve Operations productivity. * Assist the Manufacturing Engineer with the design and development planning of new products including routing, process control and test validation. * Verify 2D and 3D CAD Solid Works design to meet customer and design requirements. * Value engineering improvements and standardization to maintain customer quality while simplifying product specifications and/or tolerances. * Lab and test verification to qualify supplier sample products. * Corrective action effectiveness validation. * Project management as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager or his designee. * Develop new product work cells & creates work instructions and effective process controls. * Value Stream Analysis to ascertain the best sequence of operations and work flow. * Conducts time studies as required by management. * Schedules and conducts monthly Job Hazard Analysis for existing work cells to ensure employee safety. Identifies and eliminates any potential hazard and determines effective PPE requirements. Preferred Qualifications/Education/Experience: * Engineering Degree (i.e.: Mechanical, Hydraulic, Industrial, Electromechanical, Tooling, Refrigeration). * Drafting, CAD, Solid Works experience. * Through knowledge of applying Microsoft Office program suite for presentations & communications. * Knowledge of machine capabilities / tolerances * Able to apply Educational knowledge of time study application and line balancing * Packaged systems application knowledge * Demonstrated understanding of Industrial Engineering and General Mechanical Engineering. * Must be literate in English and able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.
