Marketing Intern Assa Abloy - Phoenix, AZ3.7 3 hours agoPart-time$20 an hour Apply Now Education * Bachelor's Degree Skills * Word Processing * Excel * Adobe InDesign * Computer Skills * Microsoft Word The ASSA ABLOY Electromechanical Specialties Marketing Internship is designed to provide an introduction into the marketing and communications field for a multi-million dollar corporation that designs, manufactures and sells access control products. The position will primarily assist with entry level marketing and communication duties related to the development and execution of marketing communications plans for five brands across several product lines: ASSA ABLOY Electronic Security Hardware, Medeco, Adams Rite and Alarm Controls. The ASSA ABLOY Electromechanical Specialties Marketing Internship will feature a project focus on enhancing Group social media and digital marketing efforts including the creation, implementation and execution of a social media strategy, development of a social media editorial calendar, and integration of social media into an overall digital marketing strategy. Additional duties include but are not limited to: capturing and selecting images for product marketing collateral, writing product descriptions and messaging, assisting with tradeshow planning and execution, drafting communications documents, assisting with company events, and building PowerPoint presentations. This internship will be part-time temporary with the commitment to work up to 20 hours per week. The duration of the internship will be during the spring, summer or fall semester. Position requires location in metro Phoenix, AZ for duration of assignment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work with Marketing and Graphic Design teams to develop copy and visual elements for ads, award submissions, PowerPoint presentations, email campaigns and collateral Gathers content for press releases, earned media campaigns and social media messaging Coordinates and participates in company event and tradeshow planning including literature fulfillment and product shipping Develop marketing, communication and training documents Assists with creation of content for brand websites and content updates as necessary Support Product Information Management/Digital Asset Management software integration and execution Proof marketing and communication materials for compliance with brand standards Collects and analyzes data from cross-functional departments to update print and online materials such as sell sheets, catalogs and installation instructions Maintain organized archives of marketing activities including samples, electronic assets and print materials Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications: To qualify for the internship program, students must be either (a) enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college or university and be a junior or (b) enrolled as a graduate student. Language Ability Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to read/analyze business documents in English. Ability to write persuasive reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Ability Ability to calculate figures and amounts involved in budgeting and perform basic quantitative analysis of promotional results. Reasoning Ability Ability to organize and process complex data and arrive at recommendations. Ability to recognize problems and opportunities and suggest proactive solutions. Ability to abstract, but also to be practical as the situation requires. Computer Skills Proficiency in word processing/spreadsheets, graphics/presentation and database software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and programs including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Knowledge of email and Internet software is a plus. Other Skills Sensitivity to others' viewpoints, especially customer perspectives. Ability to work independently, focusing on results. Positive attitude and resiliency in challenging situations. Creativity and organizational skills are equally important. Physical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop and kneel; use hands, reach with hands and arms; communicate clearly and effectively. The employee may also occasionally be required to lift 50 pounds. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate. Education and/or Experience Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Graduate Degree program in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
