Works under the general supervision of theChief Legal Counsel, Office of Legal and Regulatory Services.RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducts legal research and prepares analysis for general counsel attorneys.Prepares petitions, motions, and other pleadings for filing with in court and administrative hearings.Assists general counsels office in all aspects of litigation and client counseling.Works to increase skill and knowledge in legal research and writing methods, litigation support, legislative and administrative process.Contacts witnesses to ensure presence in court and/or obtain documentary evidence, interviews witnesses.Familiarity with automated work environments and technical proficiency in the regular daily use of a variety of automated tools and processes usedto manage, organize and monitor DHHS-OOS-Legal Services caseloads.Collects, organizes and reports case statistics as required by OOS-Legal Services administration.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Successful completion of at least one year of law school where first year curriculum includes legal research, legal writing, contractlaw, constitutional law, property law and tort law.Experience: None required.DISCLAIMER STATEMENT: The supplemental job description lists typical examples of work and is not intended to include every job duty andresponsibility specific to a position.
