This is a ten-month position and will assist the Head Coach with all phases of the soccer program, including coaching and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with the Athletic Director to gain a thorough understanding of the role of athletics at a small, private, comprehensive university. Primary Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Head Mens Soccer Coach, the Intern will: 1.Assist with identification, evaluation, and recruitment of student-athletes. 2.Assist in all areas of team performance, including pre-season, post-season training, practice and competition. 3.Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide encouragement, support and referral assistance as appropriate. 4.Assist in the day-to-day operations, including not limited to, video breakdown, travel plans, equipment, and budget management. 5.Assist and become active in promoting the program through social media. 6.Implement and develop fundraising strategies to support annual operating budget. 7.Perform other duties as assigned by the Means Head Soccer Coach. Under the guidance of the Athletic Director, the Intern will: 1.Have an opportunity to gain an understanding of the structure and organization of the NCAA, specifically Division III. 2.Have an opportunity to gain an understanding of the role of athletics in a relatively small comprehensive University. 3.Have an opportunity to gain exposure to athletic operations and event management beyond soccer.
