Professional Requirements: Meet requirements for a psychologist internship through an accredited institution. Personal Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to develop and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, school staff and to interact effectively with a variety of audiences Excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully handle multiple cases concurrently Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team Professional Responsibilities: Actively participate in assigned site school study team meetings. Through use of techniques and resources utilized in assessing, evaluation and diagnosing, conducts psychoeducational assessments of referred pupils, identify student needs and recommend supportive services. Consult with school personnel regarding children with emotional and behavioral problems and assists teachers in using the principles of behavior management and other useful techniques in the classroom. Provide assistance to support teams writing or revising a students Individual Education Plan (IEP). Provide consultation and assistance to teachers regarding attainment of IEP program goals. Prepare written and oral reports providing detailed analysis of pupils. Assess the counseling needs of identified special education pupils, develop and implement appropriate IEP counseling goals. Provides crisis response as needed. Perform other related services as assigned.
