# 2019 Fall Intern/Co-op - Powerplant Engineer **_JOB SUMMARY:_** Located in Wichita, KS, the Powerplant Engineer will provide hands-on assistance withthe design, development, certification, and field support of propulsion systemsfor Textron Aviation products. This position will provide a knowledge base ofand exposure to engine systems, fuel systems, fire protection systems, andAuxiliary Power Unit systems. **_JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:_** * Perform industry research and coordination with Advanced Design Team to assist in the preparation of propulsion system trade studies, functional test procedures, certification reports, and other engineering documents * Perform heat transfer analysis and compressible/incompressible fluid flow analysis as required to identify possible propulsion system architectures and expected performance * Perform lab and aircraft testing of propulsion system components and systems to verify performance and certifiability. **_EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: _** * Pursuing a BachelorsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or similar technicalfields **_QUALIFICATONS: _** * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Professional and diplomatic demeanor * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Professional and diplomatic demeanor * A keen sense of accountability and integrity * Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects * Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs * Understanding of 2D & 3D design concepts **_ _** **_The above statements areintended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed byemployees assigned to this job.
