Camp & Children's Department Internship Lakeshore Sport & Fitness - Chicago, IL3.1 10 hours agoFull-time$12 an hour Apply Now Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Camp/Children's Department Internship is a partially paid internship, full-time, our 13-week program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to gain practical experience, engaging children as well as parents to help develop professional skills. This program is open to undergraduates at any accredited U.S. college or university, and to those who have earned a B.A. degree within the past year. Applications open November 1, 2018. Deadline March 29, 2019. Throughout the program summer interns will: * Work in various childrens departments throughout the club based on departmental needs and intern interests. * Lead and develop a childrens department program for children ages 3-12 years old. * Participate in weekly meetings with childrens department managers by creating a topic or program of the week that we can add to our current programs. Interns will be paid for in program activities and will have a none paid business development plan. Typically, 50% paid instruction vs 50% business development/administrative duties. Internship Dates: June 1, 2019 September 1, 2019 Application Deadline: March 20, 2019 Requirements * Degree or enrolled towards a degree in sports management, physical education or recreation. * Ability to work 40 hours a week. Will be paid for 20 hours at $12.00 per hour. * 20 hours to be paid for instructing children and being part of our instructor to child ratio. * Remaining 20 hours unpaid are for administrative & management duties associated with completion of Internship * program assignments and projects. * Friendly, outgoing and have the ability to handle children and adults in a high-pressure outdoor environment. * Interested in working with children, sports and recreational activities.
