Can you teach young people how to MAKE or MONETIZE their own? The Learnatory is an innovative S.T.E.A.M. Enrichment Program providing world-class instruction to elementary, middle, and high school students in our exciting Super Summer Camp! Our instructors have that Wow! factor that excite, motivate, and challenge students to surpass their own expectations. We are looking for instructors to teach one or more of the following classes in our Summer Camp: * SCRATCH * Game Design & Animation * Xbox Game Design with Kodu * Fortnite and Unreal Engine Level Design * Roblox: Monetizing Game Design Each class ends with students creating their own games, animations, mods, or levels. Students may work individually or in teams. This is a team-teaching position with 1 - 2 Interns working with one Instructor. A team attitude and camaraderie are essential to this position. Essential Job Functions: * Must have experience with creating video games and/or animations * Maintain a safe and organized classroom with clear behavior expectations and learning goals and objectives * Support Lead Instructor in engaging students in structured discussions & activities for students to understand how coding and integrated technologies works * Inspire students to have fun while learning code and integrating technology skills * Apply a strength-based youth development practice with respect for diversity, skill-level and empowerment * Believe and practice that students are capable of surpassing their current expectations * Know how to deliver that Wow! factor * Create fresh, innovative, interactive lessons meeting specific learning objectives * Assist and support Lead Instructor in teaching, managing, and monitoring campers * Will supervise student lunch, early arrival, late departure, and/or recreational periods * Will supervise morning online instruction in Math, Reading, or Writing program. Qualifications: * Must be responsible, reliable and punctual * Knowledge of SCRATCH, Maya, Blender, or other Game Design & Animation software * Be available Monday through Friday from 9 am 5 pm. Assist teaching three (3) 1 hour and 45-minute classes each day. * Strong academic skills in Math and English * Experience or demonstrated interest in the field of education and youth development * Well organized, able to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders * AA or BA in Game Design, Animation, Interactive Media, or related field * BS, BA plus teaching credentials preferred * Teaching experience highly preferred or experience working or volunteering with youth in a classroom, after school, or community-based environments * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required Salary: Hourly rate based upon qualifications. * At time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances. * This opportunity could lead to offers to teach in our weekend program during the school year or in one of our client schools.
