We have brought together our experts who know exactly how to seamlessly integrate and manage all forms of power, including thermal, renewable and energy storage. The name of this new group? Aggreko microgrid and storage solutions. Primary Objective The engineering intern is a part time student position. He/she assists the engineering team with various tasks. This is NOT a summer only position and candidates must be enrolled in an engineering program local to the company location. Key Responsibilities Primary responsibility will be to work within the design engineering team making electrical and mechanical design documentation such as schematics and drawings. * Will perform CAD modeling for various subsystems and components of our overall grid scale energy storage system products. * Will be expected to learn codes and standards for electrical power distribution systems and implement those in their engineering design documentation. * Will work around power distribution equipment such as 480V switchboards and 1,000V battery banks (under supervision of experienced engineers and electricians). * Will work with basic tools and test equipment common in an industrial setting. * Will specify electrical and mechanical components that are part of products and assemblies. * Will work with the purchasing department to ensure the correct parts get ordered per engineering specifications. * Will assist with installation and testing of components. Secondary Responsibilities On occasion will assist other departments or engineers with various tasks and research (typically of a technical nature). Candidates must be able to commit to working a minimum of 16 hours / week when school is in session (occasional exceptions given for vacations, senior projects, final exams, etc.) Ideal candidates can commit to working approximately 20 hours / week when school is in session, and up to 30 hours / week when school is not in session. Qualifications and Experience Required * Be enrolled in related university program, and at a minimum completed the basic engineering courses within their field of study. * Ideal candidates are Electrical or Mechanical engineering students that are towards the end of their Sophomore year or the beginning of their Junior year. * Other technical degrees will be considered as well. * Candidates are expected to have a strong understanding of general science, math, and engineering fundamentals. * CAD modeling experience is desirable, specifically in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. * Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, probes, multi-meters etc. is desirable. * Basic understanding of three-phase power and electrical safety is desirable.
